MedHealth has cemented its commitment to serving and saving peoples’ lives by donating 5 million kwacha to Society of Medical Doctors (SMD) for Covid-19 fight. In his remarks MedHealth chief operation officer Dr Mcfeston Sharrif said, “We are partner to the government and we live and trade in a society that is under siege, so these factors are enough for us to join forces with the government to win the battle”.
We received a donation of buckets of Chlorine and face masks (valued at MK1,000,000) from a company in Blantyre called Fame Distributors. They donated 200 boxes of medical face masks and 10 buckets of Chlorine.
In a bid to stop further spread of COVID-19, MyBucks Banking Corporation has donated K3 million to the Society of Medical Doctors in Malawi (SMDM) for the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPEs) for frontline health workers.
Receiving the donation, President of the Society of Medical Doctors in Malawi Dr Victor-Saidi Mithi stated that frontline health workers are facing numerous challenges due to inadequate supply of PPEs across the country.
He therefore said the Society will coordinate and distribute the items to hospital and health facilities in dire need of these supplies.
Telecommunications company TNM on Saturday donated medical items worth K100 million to Society of Medical Doctors (SMD) to support over 1,000 doctors as they provide medical care to Covid-19 patients.
The medical supplies include surgical gloves, goggles, patient monitors and drugs.
